How to put together a portfolio with no examples?

We all know when starting something from scratch, whether it be a new business or even starting out fresh in fields such as: art, modeling, tv; it can be hard to show your skills with no concrete examples of your work to include in a portfolio.

In these instances I find it's best to start with your real world, lived experiences. I am starting as a freelance marketing consultant with no past clients so this is something i've pondered for a long time. How will I show potential clients they can trust me, with no results to reassure them?

Recently, while building this website with Wix Studios, it occurred to me that this is the best example I will have. Over time as I launch marketing campaigns to increase leads, tweak the website to improve SEO, and increase the quality of the content I post, the growth the website makes will be the biggest evidence of results.

Now I know it takes time to see progress, but as that builds, I am also able to demonstrate my skills in the marketing field by taking you along with me as I make changes to improve the website, and brand, as a whole.

In addition, it will be possible to see the direct correlation between changes made and the changes in growth, both positive and negative.

This is beneficial to my client's as well!

As I work with you and help you to improve and grow your online presence, my experience and skills will improve as well lending to a hand in hand partnership that I believe will benefit the both of us.

I hope you're as excited as I am to embark on this journey together and see where it takes us and thank you for being here at the beginning.
