Happy 4th of July! Let's talk about seasonal marketing and why it matters.

As we all get ready to celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States of America, I want you to consider the holiday from a marketing perspective as well.

In my course, I learned about something called seasonal marketing. What this means is tailoring your ads and content to align with current and upcoming holidays and seasons. For example, in late October into November you may want to run ads for Christmas or Hanukkah promotions or seasonal items.

Besides holidays, seasonal marketing can also align with the actual seasons.

If you owned a company that sold mostly summer clothing like swimsuits, shorts, and summer dresses, you would want to run your promotions and ads in the spring to drive awareness before it's too late. If you launch your summer clothes in the middle of July, chances are many people will have bought in preparation any therefore sales may be lower.

You may be thinking, I'm not a business or entrepreneur, just a content creator. Believe it or not, this still applies! Posting content that aligns with the seasons or holidays to your target audience can still boost traffic and leads. This is because seasonal posts are relevant and relatable to a large group of people.

Besides holidays and seasons, smaller periods can also be utilized such as back to school season.

Pro-tip: you can check Google trends to see what people are searching for at what times!

Happy 4th of July!

This is something that I see all the time and never think about personally. I appreciate that if I want to sell something for Christmas I have to start maeketing in September? Is that right? Thank you for more useful information!
